# Task Tip Weeks Owner Start Finish
Phase 1 — survey design & initial interviews
1 Define your VOC objectives and develop a questionnaire Focus on: will they buy it, at what price, and what would make them not buy it. Keep under 10 questions.
2 Find at least 10 interviewees who match your target customer profile and conduct interviews or surveys Ask both quantitative questions (rank 1–5) and qualitative open-ended questions. Aim for 20+ respondents if possible for reliable signal.
3 When you have your MVP product, send it to the interviewees Physical product reactions differ significantly from descriptions — always test with the real sample from CK002. See CK002 — Sample sourcing
4 Collect raw feedback from "open box" experience through to "after 2-week experience" Ask both quantitative (rank 1–5) and qualitative questions at each stage — first impression vs. sustained use differ.
5 Reiterate the product based on feedback and repeat steps 3–4 Don't chase every comment — focus on the 3 changes with highest impact on purchase intent. Repeat steps 3–4 with the updated product before moving to Gate 1. Most products require 2–3 iterations before passing.
6 🚩 Go / No-Go gate 1 Product quality passes VOC — proceed only if feedback confirms the core product meets customer expectations.
Phase 2 — packaging & experience validation
7 Design packaging, leaflets, how-to videos and conduct VOC interviews again Ensure the entire unboxing and usage experience is clear and positive — especially critical for products requiring assembly.
8 🚩 Go / No-Go gate 2 Packaging design and how-to instructions pass VOC — proceed only if the full product experience (unboxing to use) is validated.
Phase 3 — listing & final validation
9 List the product with description, pictures, and selling price — ask interviewees again Show the actual listing as they would see it on Amazon or your website. Their reaction to the listing is as important as the product itself.
10 🚩 Go / No-Go gate 3 MVP launch ready — listing, product, and packaging all pass VOC.
